Jones Takes ECC Defensive Player of the Week, Love and Walstrum Named to Honor Roll

The Frostburg State Men's Lacrosse team had three players earn ECC Weekly Awards, with graduate Bubba Love and juniors Nate Jones and Alex Walstrum receiving the honors.

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The Frostburg State Men's Lacrosse team had three players earn ECC Weekly Awards, with graduate Bubba Love and juniors Nate Jones and Alex Walstrum receiving the honors. 
 
Jones was named ECC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career, having backstopped Frostburg to a pair of wins in the week, making 22 total saves in goal across two games. In the Bobcats 13-5 win over Walsh at home on Tuesday, Jones made nine saves while allowing just two goals in 33 minutes played. He then made a career-high 13 saves in a 16-10 win over Malone in FSU's first road game of the season, for a 68.8 save percentage for the week. 
 
Love and Walstrum were both selected to the ECC Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll for their performances in Frostburg's two-win week.  Love, attack, scored a total of four goals and dished out six total assists in FSU's pair of wins. Love scored twice in each game, with two assists and a career-high seven ground balls against Walsh, before dishing out four assists for six total points against Malone.  In the face-off position, Walstrum went 18-for-22 and picked up 14 ground balls during the team's pair of victories in the week. Against Walsh, Walstrum was 11-for-12, picking up a career-high 9 ground balls before winning 7-of-10 with five ground balls and two goals against Malone.
