Men's Swimming Takes Third Consecutive MEC Championship
CANTON, Ohio – The Frostburg State Men's Swim team secured their third consecutive Mountain East Conference title on Saturday, placing third overall at the GMAC/MEC Championships.
On the final day of events, senior Nate Canapp took second overall in the 1,650 free at 16:09.74 while earning First Team All-MEC, as sophomore Jack Bond placed seventh with Honorable Mention honors in 17:07.72. In the 100 free, sophomores Abe Bias (46.43) and Dylan King (46.92) secured First and Second Team All-MEC honors, respectively, finishing fifth and seventh overall, with the former setting the third-fastest time in program history and the latter earning the fifth-fastest.
FSU earned another Honorable Mention All-MEC with graduate PJ Emrich (2:11.52) taking seventh overall in the 200 breast, then in the final event of the day, the 400 free relay team of Bias, King, senior Jaden Tipton, and junior Josh Horner placed third overall and first in the MEC at 3:07.51, the third-best mark in program history.
Frostburg ended the meet on 1,119.5 points, trailing only Ashland in second place with 1,556 and Findlay, who earned another championship on 1,791 points. The full standings and FSU All-MEC performers are listed below.
