Men's Swimming Drops Tri-Meet to Crimson Hawks and Golden Eagles

The Frostburg State Men's Swim team lost each of their tri-meet matchups to IUP and Clarion on Saturday afternoon.

INDIANA, Pa. – The Frostburg State Men's Swim team lost each of their tri-meet matchups to IUP and Clarion on Saturday afternoon.
 
Junior Nate Canapp started the individual events with a close second-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, as his 9:44.22 was less than a second away from the top spot. Another tight race ensued in the 50-yard free, with sophomore Julian Najarro Sedar taking runner-up at 21.45, where the top three spots were all within one second of each other. He went on to take another top-three mark in the 100-yard fly with a 51.13.
 
Freshman Dylan King had a pair of top-five finishes in both the 200-yard free (1:47.38) and the 200-yard IM (2:01.78). FSU rounded out the meet by taking third in the 200-yard free relay, with the team of senior Noah Loper, junior Mikkel LeBlanc, freshman Tory Reynolds, and Sedar swimming a 2:27.55, just missing out on second by 0.28.
 
With the losses, Frostburg drops to 4-3 and will return to action in the new year when they host Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday, January 13 at 1 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
