Men's Track & Field Puts Up 10 Top-10 Performances at Youngstown Meet

The Frostburg State Men's Track and Field team to take part in the sprints and jumps portion of the Youngstown College Invitational on Friday.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State Men's Track and Field team to take part in the sprints and jumps portion of the Youngstown College Invitational on Friday.
 
FSU put three athletes in the top 10 of the long jump, with junior Marquise Burks the team's top finisher at 6.36 meters to earn fourth overall. Freshman Ka'Von Turner was close behind in sixth at 6.39 meters, while sophomore Mason Reed came ninth with a jump of 6.14.
 
Turner went on to finish top five in both the 60- and 200-meter dashes, earning third in the former at 6.94, while taking fifth in the latter at 22.14. Burks also impressed in the 60-meter hurdles, becoming the top Division II finisher in fifth place with an 8.47.
 
In the distance events, freshman Gage Osborne placed seventh in the 800 meters at 1:57.13, then also came eighth in the mile at 4:23.16. Freshman Ryan Connelly then took fourth in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:47.03.
 
Closing out the meet, the 4x400 meter relay team of Turner, freshman Jack Hynes, junior Paul James III, and senior Nathaniel Mesy placed fourth with a 3:24.28 race.
 
Due to inclement weather, Saturday's meet in Landover is no longer occurring, as the men will next travel to Mount Union for the Jim Wuske Invite on Saturday, January 27. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
