Softball Selected Second in MEC North Division Preseason Poll

The Mountain East Conference announced their 2025 Softball Preseason Poll on Tuesday afternoon, with Frostburg State Softball taking second in the North Division.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their 2025 Softball Preseason Poll on Tuesday afternoon, with Frostburg State Softball taking second in the North Division.
 
Frostburg finished second in the North Division a year ago, posting a 29-20 overall record and a strong 20-8 mark in conference play.  FSU held on to an 11-game win streak throughout 2024, while also seeing a huge MEC win over No. 11 Charleston at the time, who are the defending champs and the favorites in the South Division this year.
 
The Bobcats received 37 total points in the poll, capturing three first place votes.  Fairmont State sits at the top of the North with 44 total points and eight first place votes, while West Liberty was voted third with 29 points. 
 
FSU opens their 2025 season down south in Wilson, NC with a doubleheader against Barton and West Chester starting at 12 PM on Saturday, February 15.  Frostburg holds their home opener on Saturday, March 8 at 1 PM with a doubleheader against Bowie State, beginning MEC action also at home, welcoming in Davis & Elkins on Saturday, March 15 at 12 PM.
