Softball Welcomes Three New Members to Staff for 2025 Season

The Frostburg State Softball team and seventh-year Head Coach Bill Vasko have announced their coaching staff for the 2025 season.

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Softball team and seventh-year Head Coach Bill Vasko have announced their coaching staff for the 2025 season.

Hayley Tamaro comes to Frostburg as the Assistant Softball Coach, having most previously served as an assistant coach at Hunter College for the 2024 season.  During her time with the Hawks, the team posted a strong second-place finish in both the regular season and conference tournament, making a memorable postseason run.

Tamaro looks to bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to FSU, having pitched at both the Division I and II levels, playing at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, and Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN.  During her time on the field, she contributed to her team's success of capturing one regular-season conference championship and two consecutive conference tournament championships, while also having played in the NCAA Super Regionals.

Katie Beeman joins the Bobcats as a Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach, having been the Buckeye Local High School (OH) Head Softball Coach in 2024, following a year of being the assistant coach.  Beeman was a standout athlete at MEC opponent West Liberty, where she was a two-time All-MEC selection.  She also received All-Atlantic Region honors in 2021 and was named MEC Tournament MVP in 2019.

Beeman grew up in the area in Frankfort, WV, where she earned All-State honors as an outfielder at Frankfort High School.

To conclude their staff, FSU welcomes Shanel Stott as the team's Graduate Assistant.  Stott also brings Division I experience to Frostburg, having played at UMBC as a second baseman.  Stott helped lead the Retrievers to three consecutive conference championships, while capturing spots on the America East All-Conference Second Team and the America East All-Championships Team in 2023.

Being a native of Cumberland, MD, Stott brought a State Championship to Allegany High School, while being named Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Year in 2019.
