Women's Swimming in Control of Conference, Stands Fourth Overall After Day One of Championships

The Frostburg State Women's Swimming Team leads the Mountain East Conference after day one of the GMAC/MEC Championships on Wednesday, currently standing in fourth place overall.

CANTON, Ohio – The Frostburg State Women's Swimming Team leads the Mountain East Conference after day one of the GMAC/MEC Championships on Wednesday, currently standing in fourth place overall. 
 
Freshman Genna Rippeon (10:37.45) and senior Lydia Nebiolo (10:38.71) took the fourth and fifth place nods in the 1,000-yard free, seeing the best two finishes in the MEC, with the former setting the second best all-time record in program history.  Freshman Madison Hooper handled the top finish in the conference in the 50-yard free, seeing a spot in the A Final with a time of 24.29 for second best all-time.  Senior Kendall Hooper also finished in the A Final, showing a 2:12.92 swim in the 200-yard IM, while freshman Taylor Emrich rolled into the B Final with a 2:13.81 finish for third all-time. 
 
Both Hoopers, senior Natasha Paciello, and junior Gabriela Betancourt tag teamed for the fourth best finish overall in the 200-yard medley relay, with a MEC best of 1:49.68, sliding into third best all-time.  M. Hooper, senior Amaya, and sophomores Brenna Naddeo and Jayme Meadows worked for a fifth place finish in the 200-yard free relay and the fourth best time in school history, seeing a swim of 1:39.93.
