Love Named ECC Offensive Player of the Week, Sipes and Dort Receive Honor Roll
WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The Frostburg State Men's Lacrosse team had three players receive ECC Awards in Frostburg's first week of play, with graduate Bubba Love, senior Austin Sipes, and junior Gregg Dort being recognized.
Love was named ECC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, for his outstanding performance in the Bobcats dominate 29-9 win over Wheeling on Saturday at home. Love set a new single-game program record with 13 total points. At attack, Love scored a career high eight goals for the second most in a game in FSU history, while also dishing out five assists. Love's eight goals scored were off of 12 shots, nine which were on goal.
Sipes and Dort were both named to the ECC Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll for their contributions in the team's first win of the season, as Sipes provided five goals and eight assists going for 13 points, also setting a program record for total points, alongside Love. His eight assists tie the program's single game record. Dort, a face-off, went 16-of-19 from the X, picking up 11 ground balls, while also recording a goal.
