Mottola, Cacek Place in Adrian Invite

The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team concluded their weekend road trip with the Adrian College Women's Invite on Sunday where the team finished 16th out of over 30 competitors.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Frostburg State Women's Wrestling team concluded their weekend road trip with the Adrian College Women's Invite on Sunday where the team finished 16th out of over 30 competitors. 
 
Freshman Faith Day represented Frostburg in the 103 lbs weight class, seeing action in two matches.  Sophomore Aurora Walters picked up a win by tech fall in 117 lbs for 2.5 team points, while freshman Elle Webster also saw time on the mat in the 117 lbs weight class, competing in two matches. 
 
Junior Solana Mottola took control in the 138 lbs weight class, competing in seven matches and taking seventh place for 12.5 total team points.  Mottola racked up five wins throughout the day by two pinfalls, two decisions, and a medical forfeit, with one fall coming in just over a minute.  Freshman Trinity Butler also wrestled in 138 lbs, taking 15.5 team points in wins of two pins and a decision. 
 
In 160 lbs, junior Samira Stephens saw time in two matches, while sophomore Jocelyn Cacek placed seventh in the 207 lbs weight class, taking 13.5 team points.  Cacek competed in six matches with four wins coming in terms of three pinfalls and one tech fall, with one fall coming in at 1:06. 
 
With the conclusion of today's tournament, Frostburg holds a 4-1 record on the season.  The Bobcats next travel to Doylestown, PA on Tuesday, November 12 for a 6 PM match against Delaware Valley.  For more complete results, and information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
