BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior Marquise Burks was selected as the MEC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for the first time this season, as the award was announced by the league office on Monday and is presented by The Health Plan.
Frostburg competed in the Messiah Multis & Invite over the weekend, where the Bobcats placed seventh out of 26 teams. Burks started the meet by winning the decathlon with 6,043 points, as he took victories in the pole vault (3.95m), discus (35.79m), high jump (1.82m), shot put (11.99m), 100m (11.77), and the long jump (6.47m), setting a new personal record in the latter event.
