Men's Soccer Sees Six Receive All-MEC Accolades

The Frostburg State Men's Soccer team had six total players selected to All-MEC teams, as announced by the league office.

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - The Frostburg State Men's Soccer team had six total players selected to All-MEC teams, as announced by the league office. 

Senior Carlos Quintero Rivas netted his second consecutive First Team selection having led the team in goals (4) and total points (11) while tying for the lead in assists (3). He netted a pair of game-winning goals and was one of two Bobcats to start in all 17 games.

In defense, sophomore Andrew Denard and senior Sebastian Vargas were both named to the Second Team. Denard, who last season earned a spot on the All-Freshman team, tied Rivas with a team-high three assists from his right back position, starting in 16 out of 17 contests. Vargas takes his first career all-conference honor, solidifying a spot at center back by playing in all 17 games with 11 starts. 

Graduate Mateo Cuadros and junior Anthony Diaz each received Honorable Mention in the FSU midfield. Cuadros netted a pair of goals to go with an assist while Diaz added a goal in his first season as a Bobcat. 

Rounding out the honors, freshman Inzaghi Harmon was named to the All-Freshman team, having appeared in 14 games with three starts and notching a goal and an assist.
