Fowler Named NWCA Scholar All-American
MANHEIM, Pa. - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) is pleased to announce the distinguished recipients of the NCAA Women's Scholar All-America awards, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who excel in both academics and athletics, with Frostburg State Women's Wrestling freshman Jada Fowler receiving the honors.
In the program's inaugural season, Fowler helped put FSU on the map, going for a 9-15 record for second most wins on the team, securing two pins, 11 tech falls, and three decisions. Fowler competed in the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Regional Championships where she placed fourth, allowing her to qualify and represent the Bobcats at the National Championships. She currently sports a 3.54 GPA as a Computer Science major.
A total of 199 scholar-athletes from 47 institutions nationwide are being honored for their remarkable achievements. NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer commended these exceptional athletes for their unwavering dedication and excellence both on and off the mat. Moyer stated, "It's a privilege to acknowledge these remarkable athletes for their exceptional accomplishments. Congratulations to all the honorees, and we wish them continued success in their academic and athletic pursuits."
