Covey, Walstrum, Mullineaux Placed on ECC Men's Lacrosse Honor Roll
WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – The Frostburg State Men's Lacrosse team had three players named to the ECC Honor Roll this week, with seniors Logan Covey and Alex Walstrum, alongside junior Sean Mullineaux getting the nod.
Moving into the starting goalkeeper role in the second game of the season, Covey helped guide Frostburg to their first two wins of the year this past week. In just two games, Covey let in only 10 goals, playing 36 minutes against Malone and seeing the fulltime against Wheeling. Covey put up a total of 12 saves in goal, while also seeing five ground balls and causing three turnovers.
Walstrum was a menace in the X for the Bobcats throughout the week, almost going perfect on face-offs. Walstrum showed a 14-for-15 go-around against the Pioneers, before going 8-for-9 against the Cardinals. He finished with five total shots throughout the week, with four being on goal and one getting by in the team's win over WU.
Fitting into his offensive role extremely well, Mullineaux paved FSU's two-win week on offense, leading the team with nine goals and three assists. In the team's 26-7 game with the MU, Mullineaux went off for five goals and two assists for a total of seven points, prior to showing four goals and one assist for a total of five points in the team's close 9-7 victory over Wheeling. Mullineaux combined for 18 shots on the week with 13 being on goal, while also seeing five ground balls and two CT's.
