Women's Soccer Receives Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award for 17th Consecutive Year

The United Soccer Coaches announced 64 total recipients for the 2024 Team Ethics and Sportsmanship award, of which Frostburg State achieved the bronze level.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches announced 64 total recipients for the 2024 Team Ethics and Sportsmanship award, of which Frostburg State achieved the bronze level.

The award is given annually based on teams' accrual of combined yellow and red cards throughout the season and gives differing levels based on the percentage of games played versus number of cards received:

  • Platinum: No cards accumulated during the season
  • Gold: Percentage of cards accumulated during the season ranging from 1-10%
  • Silver: Percentage of cards accumulated during the season ranging from 11-30%
  • Bronze: Percentage of cards accumulated during the season ranging from 31-50%

FSU achieved the bronze level, having been given just nine yellow cards across 21 matches, which was the fewest in the MEC, while the team also averaged the lowest fouls per match in the conference. It is the 17th consecutive season in which the Bobcats have received the honor, dating back to 2008.
