Baptiste Named MEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior Koby Baptiste was selected as MEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time in his career, as the award was announced by the league office on Monday and is presented by The Health Plan.
Baptiste had a historic week, being the first player under Head Coach Zack Thomsen to receive a player of the week honor, and leading Frostburg to their first-ever win over No. 7 at the time, West Liberty.
Baptiste helped the Bobcats to two-win week, starting with a thrilling 102-100 win at home over the Hilltoppers, where he put up a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds, shooting 10-for-18 from the floor. FSU then traveled to Wheeling, where the team picked up a 91-86 victory, as Baptiste showed 21 points, eight rebounds, four steals, three blocks, and three assists to fill out the stat sheet.
