Pintar Picks Up Singles Victory in Women's Tennis Loss to Falcons

The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team fell to Fairmont State at home 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team fell to Fairmont State at home 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Falcons started off the meet by taking all three doubles matches, earning the first point of the day. Sophomores Patricia Castejon and Ella Troxell had the closest match for the Bobcats in a 6-4 loss.
 
In singles play, took straight-set sweeps at Nos. 1, 3, and 5 that was enough to earn the meet victory. Senior Lorena Pintar picked up Frostburg's lone win on the day in a 6-4, 6-3 decision, while Castejon battled in a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 loss.
 
With the loss, Frostburg drops to 5-7 on the year, while the Falcons improve to 5-4. The Bobcats next hit the road to face West Virginia State on Sunday, April 13 for a 12 p.m. meet. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
