BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Freshman Lauren Ceballos was recognized as MEC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, going 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles play over the weekend. This award was announced on Monday by the league office and is presented by The Health Plan.
Ceballos helped lead Frostburg to a 4-3 win over Edinboro on Saturday, going for a 6-2 victory in doubles play with partner sophomore Alyssa Kush, and topping it off with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over her singles opponent. In the team's close 4-3 loss to Mercyhurst on Sunday, Ceballos and Kush fell just shy in their doubles match by a final of 7-6, but Ceballos earned a point in singles play with a hard fought 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 win.
