Weakley Earns WBCA All-American Honorable Mention

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced the NCAA Division II award winners on Thursday for the 2023-24 season with sophomore Emilee Weakley receiving WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches All-American Honorable Mention.

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced the NCAA Division II award winners on Thursday for the 2023-24 season with sophomore Emilee Weakley receiving WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches All-American Honorable Mention. 
 
Adding to her accolades this season, Weakley is coming off being named MEC Player of the Year, while also being recognized as First Team All-MEC and D2CCA First Team All-Region.  For the second consecutive year, Weakley led all of Division II in scoring with 25.2 points per game, while pulling down 6.8 rebounds per game as well.  While also leading Frostburg in steals with 37, Weakley put up two 40-point games and four double-doubles in the 2023-24 season.  In her second collegiate year, Weakley surpassed 1,000 career points, currently sitting ninth on FSU's all-time scoring list.
 
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association is the professional association for coaches of women's and girls' basketball at all levels of competition.  Founded in 1981, the WBCA offers educational resources that coaches need to help make themselves better leaders, teachers and mentors to their players; provides opportunities for coaches to connect with peers in the profession; serves as the unifying voice of diverse community of coaches to the organizations that control the game; and celebrates those coaches, players and other individuals who excel each year and contribute to the advancement of the sport.
