Women's Swimming Dominates D&E to Remain Unbeaten after Homecoming Weekend
FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Swimming team hosted the Davis & Elkins Senators on Homecoming Weekend, winning the meet by of score of 159-40 on Saturday.
Frostburg dominated the day, bringing home 11 first place finishes and 26 top three finishes. The Bobcats took first place in the 50, 100, 200, 400, and 800-meter free, as well as the 200-meter IM, 200-meter fly, 200-meter back, and 200-meter breast, and the 200-meter medley relay and 200-free relay.
Senior Natasha Paciello had the most first place finishes on the day in individual events, being credited with the victory in the 200-meter IM (2:39.03) and the 200-meter breast (2:51.45). Freshman Taylor Emrich took first in the 800-meter free with a time of 9:55.38, while fellow freshman Genevieve Rippeon placed first in the 50-meter free with a 27.86 time. Sophomore Jayme Meadows received first in the 200-meter free with a swim of 2:16.59, with sophomore Morgan Greenlee placing first in the 200-fly with a 2:36.24 finish. Adding to the list was senior Kendall Hooper, who swam a 1:02.89 in the 100-meter free for another first place finish for the Bobcats, while senior Lydia Nebiolo (2:33.70) earned first in the 200-meter back, and senior Amanda Soustek (4:58.53) took first in the 400-meter free.
Capping off the terrific day for FSU were the teams of Meadows, Paciello, Hooper, and senior Amaya Burke who won the 200-meter medley relay with a 2:08.20 finish, and Rippeon, Burke, Meadows, and Hooper who received the victory in the 200-meter free relay with a 1:53.71 swim.
With the win, Frostburg improves to 4-0 on the season, having gone undefeated during Homecoming Weekend. The Bobcats next face Fairmont State on the road on Monday, October 28 for a 6 PM meet. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
