Women's Tennis Ends Spring Break Trip with Convincing Win Over Nazareth
HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Frostburg State Women's Tennis team concluded their Spring Break trip with a 7-2 victory over Nazareth on Thursday.
FSU began the meet strong, taking all three doubles points, starting off with an 8-0 sweep by sophomore Alyssa Kush and freshman Lauren Ceballos. Also winning in convincing fashion was the junior pairing of Lorena Pintar and Sydney Goering at 8-3, while freshman Patricia Castejon and sophomore Hazel Honeycutt pulled out an 8-7 victory at the third spot.
Kush (6-1, 6-1), Ceballos (6-2, 6-0), Pintar (6-0, 6-1), and Castejon (6-0, 6-0) all went on to pick up straight-set victories in their singles matches. The Golden Flyers won at both the five and six spots, giving the Bobcats a 7-2 final score line.
With the win, Frostburg improves to 6-6 on the year, while Nazareth falls to 5-8. FSU returns home to face Bowie State on Thursday, March 28 at 4 p.m. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
