Women's Track & Field Competes at WVU Last Chance Meet
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Frostburg State women's track & field program competed at the WVU last chance meet over the weekend, with 24 student athletes placing in the top ten of events.
The top finish on the day for FSU came from sophomore Khady Ndiaye in the triple jump, hitting 11.40 meters to be the top finisher and put herself fourth in program history. Freshman Isabella Mastria had two top finishes for Frostburg, first finishing second in the 200 meters with a time of 25.71, then following up with a third-place distance in the long jump at 5.37 meters. Freshman Lucy Crowe came in just behind with her own jump of 5.23 meters, good enough for fourth place and setting a new personal best, while Ndiaye had a leap of 4.78m for her PR.
Also in the 200, freshman Lilly Williams (27.24) and Crowe (27.37) both set personal highs, with sophomore Malaika Habib placing fourth at 26.33. In the 400 meters, senior Morgan Mathews set a new career best at 1:03.56.
During the distance events, freshman Emily Wishart took second in the 800 with a time of 2:26.32, passing her career best, as did classmates Paige Etnoyer (2:32.66) and Jazmine Pinon (2:56.21). In the 5,000 meters, sophomore Adra Schell hit a personal best of 19:39.15.
Rounding out the meet in the throws, freshman Raegan Philips (33.07m) and senior Jenna Green (30.46m) both set personal records in the Hammer Throw.
Frostburg will travel to the compete in the Lee Last Chance Meet to finish the outdoor regular season on Saturday, May 11. For more information visit frostburgsports.com.
