Boards Named MEC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week
Sophomore Valerie Boards was named MEC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the opening weekend of Frostburg's Indoor Track & Field season. The award was announced by the league office on Monday and is presented by The Health Plan.

BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Sophomore Valerie Boards was named MEC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in the opening weekend of Frostburg's Indoor Track & Field season. The award was announced by the league office on Monday and is presented by The Health Plan.
At the Youngstown Icebreaker, Boards and her relay team set the fourth fastest time in both the meet and program history in the 4x400 with a 4:02.68 finish. In the 200 meters, Boards went on to set a new PR with a 25.53 time for a ninth place finish, while tying for first in the 60 meters with a 7.86 finish.
