Three Top-Five Finishes Pace Women's Track & Field at Youngstown Invite

The Frostburg State Women's Track and Field team to take part in the Youngstown College Invitational on Friday.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Frostburg State Women's Track and Field team took part in the Youngstown College Invitational on Friday.
 
Sophomore Valerie Boards kicked off the meet in fine fashion, taking fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.82, being the top Division II finisher in the race. In similar fashion, sophomore Jasmine Scott was third in the 400 meters at 57.06, placing behind a pair of Division I athletes.
 
Both Boards and Scott joined sophomore Malaika Habib and Isabella Mastria in the 4x400-meter relay, taking fourth with a time of 4:09.36.
 
FSU saw a quartet of personal bests set in the mile, with sophomore Alana Dyce-Giraud (5:22.67) the top finisher in 14th, followed by freshmen Emily Wishart (5:48.21) and Paige Etnoyer (5:48.21) and junior Amy Tarcza (5:55.52). Wishart (2:36.29) and Etnoyer (2:39.35) also had new records in their 800-meter performances.
 
Due to inclement weather, Saturday's meet in Landover is no longer occurring, as the women will next travel to Mount Union for the Jim Wuske Invite on Saturday, January 27. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
