- Apr 277:30 PMSenior Recital: Hannah Hieronimus, SopranoFSU Student Hannah Hieronimus Will Perform Senior Voice RecitalFrostburg State University’s Department of Music will present soprano Hannah Hieronimus in her senior voice recital on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center. She will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Joseph Yungen and guest artists, lutenist Dr. Lyle Nordstrom and the FSU Chamber Singers, conducted by Dr. Scott Rieker. The concert is free and open to the public. This event will also be livestreamed; click the “Join Stream” button on this page a few minutes before the recital is scheduled to begin, or any time during the recital, to view the live performance.The program will include “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” (2010) by Dolly Parton, arranged by Craig Hella Johnson; “Dear, Do Not Your Fair Beauty Wrong” (1609) and “Away Delights” (1609) by Robert Johnson; “I Know That My Redeemer Liveth” (1767) from “Messiah” by George Frideric Handel; “An Evening Hymn” (1688) by Henry Purcell; “Ah, je ris de me voir” (1859) from “Faust” by Charles Gounod; “Ave Maria” (1860) by Luigi Cherubini and “Ave Maria” (1853) by Johann Sebastian Bach/Charles Gounod; “Porgi, amor” (1786) from “Le nozze di Figaro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Reflets” (1911) by Marie-Juliette Olga Lili Boulanger; and “Sì, mi chiamano Mimì” (1895) from “La Bohème” by Giacomo Puccini.At FSU, Hieronimus studies under Dr. Chun-Ting Chao. She anticipates graduating in May 2024 with a bachelor’s in health science as well as a bachelor’s in vocal performance. Hieronimus is a member of Delta Zeta and has been on the Dean’s List. - Apr 277:30 PMTheatre and Dance: Martin and Margaret and the MINDSWAP by Amaree Cluff and Mike LongFSU’s Department of Theatre and Dance Closes Season With Comedic “Martin and Margaret and the MINDSWAP”The Frostburg State University Department of Theatre and Dance will close its 2023-2024 season with the farcical comedy “Martin and Margaret and the MINDSWAP” by Mike Long and Amaree Cluff. Performances will take place Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, and Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 pm, with a matinee performance on April 20 at 2 p.m., all in the F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre in the Woodward D. Pealer Performing Arts Center.Directed by Darrell Rushton, this lighthearted and fun play was originally intended for the 2020 season but cancelled due to the pandemic. The department is excited to bring it back for this Main Stage season.On the brink of World War II, a genius professor invents the ultimate spy device, a machine that swaps minds. The Nazis want this wonder device, but two American heroes are fighting to keep it – and its inventor – out of enemy hands. As the MINDSWAP machine takes hold, everyone loses their mind, literally, resulting in mistaken identities, comedic chase scenes and the chaos that can only come from a mad, brain-swapping scientist.The cast features performances by graduating seniors Brendon McCabe (Professor Georg Wachtendorf) and Hayden Shoemaker-Davis (Martin Buchanan), as well as Ava Breighner (Margaret Henkel), Finley Manocchio (Natasha Von Metzgemörder), Caleb Friend (James Burkhardt and Hans Burckhardt), and TJ Kelly and Cheyenne Daisy (understudies).In addition to Rushton, creative team members include Sarah Slack (stage manager), George Georgeson (scenic and sound design), Ronald Breitfeller (costume design), Carson Luther (lighting design), Nicole Mattis (dialects), Shea-Mikal Green (intimacy direction), Andrew Watkins (assistant stage manager), Mackenzie Guynes and Kyle Wolford (assistant scenic design) and the Stagecraft II class (properties design).
