Women's Soccer Selected as Favorites of North Division in MEC Preseason Poll
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced their 2025 Women's Soccer Preseason Poll on Wednesday afternoon, selecting Frostburg State to finish first at the top of the North Division for the fourth straight year.
Frostburg is coming off another solid run in the MEC, earning their fifth consecutive regular season North Division crown after a 15-4-2 record and solid 11-1-2 mark in conference play. FSU made their third straight NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Gannon in the first round of regional competition.
The Bobcats hold 49 total points in the overall poll, collecting nine first-place votes. Fairmont State holds the second most points in the North with 42 along with two first-place votes, while West Liberty (28), Point Park (23), and Wheeling (18) round out the division. Charleston received the most points in the South Division with 49 total and six first-place tallies, with West Virginia State taking the second spot with 49 points and a pair of first-place picks as well. Concord earned the third slot with a tight 48 points and three first-place votes, as Glenville State (30), West Virginia Wesleyan (26), and Davis & Elkins (16) round out the rest of the competition.
FSU kicks off their season on the road in Boyds, MD as they host Catawba at the MD Soccerplex for a 7 PM game on Friday, September 5.
