Bauer, Vermillion Named D2 Baseball Third Team All-Americans
FROSTBURG, Md. - Seniors Pat Bauer and Nate Vermillion were both named to the D2 Baseball All-American Third Team, as announced by the organization.
Bauer was a three-time first team all-region player through ABCA/Rawlings, NCBWA and D2CCA, after being named MEC Pitcher of the Year to conclude the regular season. The FSU ace led the conference in ERA (2.20) and strikeouts (89), showing a team-best 9-1 overall record on the year. He threw 65.1 total innings going for two complete games, giving up just 16 earned runs and 11 walks in 12 appearances while seeing a .225 opposing batting average.
As the team's closer, Vermillion set a new program career saves record with eight this year bringing his total to 20, surpassing former standout Nick Huff's 19. He was a Second Team All-MEC member, sporting a 1.29 ERA across 28 innings with 32 strikeouts.
