Baseball Placed at the Top of the North Division in MEC Preseason Poll

The Mountain East Conference released their 2025 Baseball Preseason Poll on Wednesday afternoon, with Frostburg State Baseball taking control of the North Division being picked in the number one spot.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference released their 2025 Baseball Preseason Poll on Wednesday afternoon, with Frostburg State Baseball taking control of the North Division being picked in the number one spot. 
 
Frostburg is coming off a memorable 2024 season, repeating as MEC North Division Champs for the third consecutive year, with a 37-16 overall record and a solid 24-4 mark in conference play.  The Bobcats put up the most wins in a season since 2015, qualifying for their first NCAA Tournament since 2016, entering as the No. 7 seed in the Atlantic Region. 
 
For the third straight year, FSU finished first in preseason voting in the North Division with 46 total points and 10 first place votes.  Point Park sits right behind them in second with 31 points and the other lone first place vote.  The defending MEC Champions of Charleston (WV) are on top of the South Division with 54 total points and nine first place votes, while West Virginia State took second (43) and Concord (39) placed third, with the Mountain Lions seeing two first place votes.
 
The Bobcats kickoff 2025 down south in Cary, NC on Friday, February 21 with a 1 PM doubleheader against Goldey-Beacom.  Frostburg starts MEC play on the road at Concord with a doubleheader at 1 PM on Saturday, March 15, not hosting their home opener until Saturday, March 22 when the team welcomes in Charleston for a 1 PM doubleheader as well.
