Women's Tennis Falls to Golden Eagles in Home Opener

The Frostburg State women's tennis team hosted Charleston for its Spring home opener, falling by a score of 4-0.

FROSTBURG, Md. -  The Frostburg State women's tennis team hosted Charleston for its Spring home opener, falling by a score of 4-0.

The Bobcats started off with doubles parings of senior Lorena Pintar playing with junior Alyssa Kush and the sophomore paring of Patricia Castejon and Ella Troxell. The latter pair managed to take three sets, however the Golden Eagles took the doubles point winning both matches.

In a series of shortened singles matches, including an FSU forfeit at the No. 6 spot, UC needed just two victories to secure the meet. They did so convincingly at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots, taking straight set sweeps at each to take the 4-0 win.

With the loss, Frostburg falls to 4-4 on the year, while Charleston improves to 12-4. FSU will play again when they travel to Millersville on Saturday, March 29 for a 1 PM start. For more information visit frostburgsports.com
