STATEN ISLAND, NY - In his final regular season indoor competition of the year, senior Tom McCoy increased his hold on the Frostburg State Men's Pole Vault record at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet on Friday.
As the lone FSU athlete to make the trip to New York, McCoy hit on heights of 4.60, 4.75, and finally, after just one fault, clearing 4.97m to both win the event and set his new program mark. His previous career high was set earlier in the season, hitting 4.90m in the Bobcats' first event of the year. He now will await to see if he earns a selection to the Division II Indoor Championships, where he currently is tied for 21st in the country and second among Atlantic Region schools.
