Diaz Earns Victory in Doubles, Singles During Men's Tennis Loss to Fairmont

The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell to Fairmont State at home 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team fell to Fairmont State at home 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Juniors Cole Alcala and German Diaz earned a hard-fought 7-6 victory at No. 1 doubles, but the Fighting Falcons pulled out wins of 6-4 and 6-1 to take the meet point.
 
In singles play, Diaz completed an undefeated afternoon with another marathon match, taking the No. 2 spot 3-6, 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Viktor Boban also put up a valiant fight in a narrow 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 loss, as Fairmont took Nos. 1, 3, and 5 to earn the meet win.
 
With the loss, Frostburg drops to 4-8 on the year, while the Falcons improve to 5-4. The Bobcats next hit the road to face West Virginia State on Sunday, April 13 for a 12 p.m. meet. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
