Diaz, Boban, Bolen Go Unbeaten to Lead Men's Tennis to Senior Day Win Over Tigers
FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team concluded their season with a 5-2 home victory over Salem (WV) on Friday afternoon.
Prior to the match, FSU honored its trio of seniors in Matt Bolen, Cian Cabodevilla, and Nate Burkhardt.
The sides split their doubles matches to start, as Bolen and sophomore Viktor Boban cruised to a 6-0 win at No. 2, while the Tigers won 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. In singles play, Boban took a 7-5, 6-2 sweep at No. 3, though SU responded with straight-set wins at Nos. 1 and 6 to pull to a tie in the meet. Diaz and Bolen both were forced into marathon matches and each passed their respective tests at Nos. 2 and 4, the former winning 6-0, 6-7, 11-9 while the latter came out with a 6-7, 7-5, 10-5 decision that secured the meet win. Junior Noah Fisher tacked on a bonus point in another three-setter, winning 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 for the 5-2 final score.
