BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced Frostburg State Women's Basketball senior Emilee Weakley as the 2025 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.
 
Making a name for herself in the history of women's basketball, Weakley finished with a 3.912 GPA, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration while setting the program's all-time scoring record in just three years. 
 
Weakley is a First and Second Team College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-American, having earned CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MEC honors all three years.  On the court, she is a 3x D2CCA Second Team All-American and First Team All-Region member, and a 3x First Team All-MEC honoree.  She was named a WBCA All-American this past season, and MEC Player of the Year for the 2023-2024 season.  In her freshman year, she was named MEC Freshman of the Year and World Exposure Report Division II Freshman of the Year. 
 
In her final collegiate season, Weakley was named Frostburg State Female Athlete of the Year, finishing with a career average of 26.2 points per game for the second most in all of Division II women's basketball history.  She led all of DII this year with 27.4 ppg, setting another program record, helping her reach 2,243 career points for the most points in school history while also being the lone Bobcat to ever score 2,000 career points. 
 
Outside the court and the classroom, Weakley is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society which recognizes students for excellence in business leadership and academic achievements.  She serves in her hometown community at Mt. Carmel Regular Baptist Church, while also volunteering with food drives and special needs children.  The Luray, Virginia native also helps volunteer coach at her alma mater Luray High School.
 
"In her three seasons, Emilee established herself as not just one of the best players to have played at Frostburg State, but in Division II women's basketball history.", said FSU Women's Basketball Head Coach Jenna Eckleberry. "Her statistics speak for themselves, but her dedication and leadership cannot be understated. She is the hardest working athlete both on the court and in the classroom and has always been the first to step up in a leadership role. She embodies every great quality you could ask for in a player and above all else, is an even better person."
