FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State Volleyball team picked up their Senior Day victory over Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon by a 3-0 final.

Prior to the match, Frostburg honored their senior class of Fiona Gonzalez Media, Madison Reed, and AJ Thompson for their time in a Bobcat uniform.

Reed got the day started for Frostburg, jumping up and knocking down the first point of the match for either team.  FSU stole the next six points to advance their lead to 6-0, as Reed was credited with another kill in the mix.  Davis & Elkins secured their first points of the match off two Bobcat errors, but Frostburg quickly got those points back, with kills from Thompson and Knieper, and a service ace from junior Chloe Del Signore to push FSU ahead 9-2.  Both teams swapped points back and forth for a few rallies, before the Bobcats extended their advantage to 14-5.  FSU continued to soar on offense, defending the Senators well also, picking up a duo of points to see a 20-12 score.  Sophomore Paige Mock picked up the final kill of the set for Frostburg, as two errors from D&E gave FSU the 25-17 victory in set one.

The Senators gave the first point of set two to the Bobcats off an error, before Mock and freshmen Dani Kunkle and Devin Brunk swatted down kills as well.  Brunk then led FSU on a scoring run, knotting two service aces in a five point scoring soar.  On top 10-3, Kunkle and Johnson provided more offense to push Frostburg in front 13-6.  Sophomore Raegan Phillips then helped start another spark for FSU, putting down a kill before Kunkle and Brunk did as well.  Davis & Elkins was able to show some life, capturing the next six points to cut the game to 18-14.  Kunkle and Brunk were each credited with a kill once again, with Brunk finishing the rally with another service ace to put the set at 22-16.  Redshirt junior Phoebe Lingold set up a perfect kill from Johnson, as two attack errors from D&E finished the set in favor of the Bobcats 25-19.

FSU took the first three points of the third set, before capturing seven consecutive points off kills from Brunk, Kunkle, Knieper, and Mock, as well as a pair of service aces from Knieper.  Seeing a 10-2 advantage, Frostburg kept their foot on the gas, increasing their edge to 13-5 after two kills from Thompson.  The Senators showed some fight, knocking down some kills to get within four, before two attack errors from the Bobcats put Davis & Elkins within two, 16-14.  FSU was able to surge back, taking the next three points with Mock starting the rally with a kill.  The teams traded a point, before Frostburg sealed the deal with five straight points with a kill from Brunk starting the run, and a kill from Kunkle ending the run, and the match, with a 25-17 final.

Kunkle tied the game-high in kills with nine, while also providing 10 digs.  Mock (7) and Thompson (6) were next in kills, while the duo combined for eight blocks.  Freshman Emery Kuebler dished out 20 assists, while Lingold was next with 10.  Rounding out the stat sheet, Knieper finished with a game-high four aces, as well as 13 digs, while Gonzalez Medina picked up 10 digs.
