DeMaio, Bare, Lee Take Yearly MEC Women's Lacrosse Accolades
FROSTBURG, Md. – After securing their third consecutive MEC Tournament title, the Frostburg State Women's Lacrosse team saw three players receive year-end awards from the conference.
In her first collegiate season, freshman midfielder Kamryn Lee was named the Mountain East Freshman of the Year. The Edgewater, Md. native played both sides of the ball to great effect, notching a goal and an assist while causing 10 turnovers and scooping up 15 groundballs throughout 15 games played.
Junior defender Jessie Bare was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, leading the Bobcat backline with 40 caused turnovers and 42 groundballs. Her 40 CT's so far this year are the most in a single season for the program since former standout Malory Brunett's 42 in 2014.
Rounding out the accolades, graduate Camden DeMaio was named the Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference in assists (37) and points (99). Her 37 assists are the third-most in a single season in program history, while her 99 points are the third-most. She has also added 62 goals, the second-most in school history behind junior teammate Neila Haney's 73 this season.
