BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Senior kicker Dayne Koontz was named MEC Football Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Fairmont State on Saturday. The award is presented by The Health Plan and was announced by the league office on Monday.
In the Bobcats' regular season finale, Koontz went 5-for-5 on both extra points and field goals, helping Frostburg defeat the Fighting Falcons 50-20. Koontz knocked down field goals from 29, 31, and 33 yards, along with two from 24 yards out. Koontz also tallied 10 kickoffs for a total of 509 yards and a 50.9 average. With the win, the team concluded their season 7-3.
