Football Sweeps MEC Weekly Awards

The Frostburg State Football team swept the MEC weekly awards that were announced on Monday by the league office and are presented by The Health Plan.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Frostburg State Football team swept the MEC weekly awards that were announced on Monday by the league office and are presented by The Health Plan. 
 
Redshirt sophomore quarterback Myles Fulton was named MEC Offensive Player of the Week, guiding Frostburg's offense to a 34-point road win over West Liberty on Saturday afternoon.  Fulton threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns on 13-for-20 pass attempts, leading to a 57-23 victory for FSU. 
 
On the defensive end, junior linebacker Jaylen Boyd received MEC Defensive Player of the Week, finishing with five tackles in the Bobcat's win, including one that was TFL.  Boyd also intercepted a pass, running it down field for an 80-yard pick six. 
 
Rounding out the awards, sophomore kicker/punter Sam Dominguez earned MEC Special Teams Player of the Week, belting seven punts for 294 yards, one that was inside the 20.  Dominguez also had a 55-yard kickoff, and a pass that converted a two-point conversion for Frostburg.
