BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - The Mountain East Conference has announced its winners of the first Football Player of the Week awards, presented by The Health Plan, on Monday afternoon.
Frostburg State's Carter Mazalewski received Defensive Player of the Week honors in an all-round performance as the Bobcats took down Shepherd 41-27 in their season opener. The redshirt sophomore made a team-high eight tackles, including a pair of sacks, with his top highlight coming just before halftime on a 65-yard pick six that put FSU ahead 20-3.
