Frostburg Announces Letourneau's Return as Head Volleyball Coach
FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State Director of Athletics Troy Dell has announced the hiring of Peter Letourneau as Head Volleyball Coach, marking his return to the helm of the program.
"I'm very excited to rejoin the staff at Frostburg State. I've seen the department grow into the Division II level and believe it is well-positioned for further success The recruiting connections across Maryland and Northern Virginia offer the landscape to succeed in the Mountain East Conference and across the region.", said Letourneau. "From the start of the process, (Senior Associate Director of Athletics) Rubin Stevenson and Troy have been honest, open, and supportive. I appreciate their communication and believe that there is a clear alignment with our visions for the future of volleyball at FSU."
Letourneau has spent the past 13 seasons leading the California (Pa.) program, sporting a record of 240-142 for the Vulcans. During his tenure, he became the CALU's all-time wins leader, reached six NCAA Tournaments, and won two PSAC Championships.
His time at California marked the second time in his career that he became a program's all-time wins leader, also reaching the mark while at the helm of FSU from 2005-10 with a 145-60 record. Frostburg enjoyed some of their most successful seasons under Letourneau, making the NCAA Tournament in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the regional championship in 2010. Under his direction, three players received AVCA All-American honors and two were named conference players of the year across four seasons. The Bobcats are coming off their second appearance in the Mountain East Conference Tournament during the 2023 season, with a 15-16 record overall and a 5-9 mark in the MEC.

Prior to his time at FSU, he was an assistant coach at Rutgers University for one season and spent three years as the head men's and women's volleyball coach at Stevenson University. Letourneau played collegiate volleyball at East Stroudsburg University and the United States Air Force.
