Smith Named D2CCA Second Team All-American

The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced their Women's Soccer All-America Teams on Tuesday, with Frostburg State Women's Soccer senior Cat Smith being named a Second Team All-American.

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.  – The Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) announced their Women's Soccer All-America Teams on Tuesday, with Frostburg State Women's Soccer senior Cat Smith being named a Second Team All-American. 
 
In her final season in a Bobcat uniform, Smith is adding MEC Defensive Player of the Year to her accolades, while repeating as a First Team All-MEC and All-Region member, and finishing as a two-time All-American, the first-ever in program history. 
 
As Frostburg's leader on defense, Smith played a team-high 1,708 minutes, giving up just 16 goals on the season in 21 games, while also helping provide 12 defensive shutouts.  Smith led FSU to their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance, filling out the stat sheet on the year with five goals and two assists on the offensive end, while seeing a team-high 42 shots.  Smith earned 12 total points on the season, tallying three game-winning goals on the year as well.
