Community Outreach Project: Free Books & Resources Giveaway

    Frostburg State University’s ASTAR AmeriCorps program will hold a Book and Resource Giveaway Community Outreach Project from Saturday, April 12th through Wednesday, April 16th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day at City Place, 14 S. Water St. in Frostburg.

    The public is invited to choose from a wide variety of items at no cost. This year’s event will feature food, books, and other items. Supply is limited, so those interested are encouraged to arrive early.

    This event is supported by FSU and ASTAR, which are AmeriCorps grantees that receive funds as part of their national and state program, as well as the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism.     The ASTAR (Appalachian Service Through Action and Resources) Program was established in 1994 and empowers AmeriCorps members to strengthen the capacity of community organizations, improve the lives of vulnerable populations, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteerism.
