Intersectionality: Sexual Assault and Identity

Friday, November 1, 2024 4:00–6:00 PM
  • Location
    Lane Center 113, 113
  • Description
RAINN Bureau Speaker Leah Forney will be speaking about her experience helping those in marginalized communities who have faced sexual violence on Friday, Nov. 1 from 4-6 p.m. in Lane University Center 113. As a survivor of sexual assault, Leah has turned her trauma into a powerful narrative that drives her mission. Her story is not just one of survival, but of thriving and leading by example. For the past decade, she has bravely shared her experience, leading crucial conversations with politicians, law enforcement, and attorney generals' offices. Her advocacy work has made her a respected voice in the fight against sexual violence. Ms. Forney is the host of Hey Queen Thrive! podcast, the founder of SAAVE ME, an experienced speaker, is on the advisory board of George Mason University, is earning a PHD from John Hopkins, & has an upcoming feature in USA Today. This event is hosted as a part of the Langerberg Legacy project (Daileah Ramirez). ODEI & RISE are cohost to this event.
