STUDY ABROAD IN BARCELONA, SOUTHERN FRANCE, AND ITALY

Consider the Mediterranean Sea's influence on the history—and modern culture—of three interconnected nations. In Barcelona, gaze at Gaudí's colorful and creative works. Along the French Riviera, let the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere inspire you. And in Florence, hear the chimes of Giotto's Campanile ring across the city.

*This trip is in conjunction to IDIS 351/350: Exploring American Culture, an interdisciplinary colloquium in American Studies. One of the first topics will be a discussion of the cultural impact abroad of US globalization. The course will be offered during the Spring 2020 semester with Dr. Wood. Students will travel abroad during Spring Break.

Berlin: The City Experience

Berlin’s storied past is firmly embedded in a vibrant contemporary culture. Stand in the Nazi headquarters one moment, and navigate the city's eco-friendly infrastructure the next. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, this city has evolved into one of the most eclectic, exciting and multicultural communities in Europe. Discover the many ways to contemplate the past, enjoy the present and dream of the future.

*This trip is in conjunction to SOCI 490/WMST 490: Gender & The City, a 3 credit course, in which students will explore how gendered power relations shape urban spaces and who benefits from the opportunities and pleasure of urban life. The course will be offered during the Spring 2020 semester with Dr. Earles. Students will travel abroad during Spring Break.

Spain: Land of Many Cultures

Millennia of cultivation finds synagogues, mosques and cathedrals sitting side by side. In a country composed of 17 autonomous states, five official languages and three distinct religions, there is a lot happening that isn’t as simple as just “Spanish.” Dive into this unexpected melting pot, where a history of international influence has formed a land of many cultures.

Landscapes of ENGLAND, IRELAND, & WALES
STUDY ABROAD IN ENGLAND, IRELAND, & WALES

In the British Isles, the bindings of culture and history are as strong as King Arthur's sword. As you zip across the landscapes that knights spent centuries battling for, it all comes into focus. Try not to blink as you see where ties were broken and kingdoms were defended. English works everywhere you go, but your jam-packed adventure will leave you fluent in everything British Isles.
