The Frostburg State Field Hockey team was predicted to finish ninth in the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Field Hockey Preseason Poll, announced on Monday by the league office.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association celebrates the scholastic excellence of 12 Division II programs with the 2023 National Academic Team Award. This prestigious honor is conferred to teams earning a noteworthy grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.

A noteworthy total of 121 undergraduate student-athletes have attained the distinguished designation of NFHCA Division II Scholars of Distinction. This esteemed program recognizes the academic excellence of student-athletes who have demonstrated exceptional prowess, maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher throughout the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

The NFHCA announced a total of 383 undergraduate student-athletes from 34 nominating institutions that earned a spot on the 2023 Division II National Academic Squad.

Senior defender Emily Hughes, the main force on Frostburg's defense, was announced NFHCA Second Team All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
